1485 PHDS, MASTERS, BACHELORS AND BACCALAUREUS OF INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY – VIETNAM NATIONAL UNIVERSITY GRADUATED IN 2023
On December 16–17, 2023, International University – Vietnam National University (IU-VNU) held the Graduation and Post-Graduation Ceremony 2022 at Tran Chi Dao Hall. The 17th Ceremony witnessed the graduation of nearly 1500 Ph.Ds, Masters, Bachelors, and Baccalaureus from 12 Schools and Departments.
The Ceremony was honored to have the presence of distinguished guests, the Board of Directors VNU-HCM, the Board of Directors IU, Lecturers and Staff, Parents, and most importantly, more than 1500 newly graduated Ph.Ds, Masters, Bachelors, and Baccalaureus. The ceremony began with an energetic performance from IU students.
The impressive performance from the group of IU students created an exciting atmosphere for the ceremony.
Everyone at the Hall took part in the solemn National Flag Salutation ritual.
During his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dinh Duc Anh Vu – Vice President of IU expressed his sincere congratulations to all newly graduated Ph.Ds, Masters, Bachelors, and Baccalaureus. The Vice President of IU also recognized the great accomplishments by the newly graduates with their restless efforts.
“Countless difficulties and challenges are waiting for you out there, but I believe that as long as you try your best and have strong faith in the future ahead, nothing can stop you. “No matter how difficult life is, there are always things you can do and succeed in. The key is to never give up.” This is a famous quote from the genius British physicist – Stephen Hawking…” – Assoc. Prof. Dinh Duc Anh Vu shared.

More importantly, this year Graduation Ceremony welcomed the representatives from two businesses with an intimate relationship with IU, Mr. Vu Duc Thinh – CEO of Lazada Logistics Vietnam and Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Quyen – Alumna of VNU-HCM, Deputy Director of MISA JSC Ho Chi Minh. The two main speakers of the event shared their sincere messages to all newly graduates.
In his speech, Mr. Vu Duc Thinh stated: “You may have gone through a lot of challenges during your time at the university, but it’s certainly filled with the most beautiful moments of a lifetime. I hope that all of the graduates today can be proud of yourself for reaching such a significant milestone.” Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Quyen also shared: “Having been a graduate student from VNU-HCM, I can still vividly recall the initial emotions standing here. I would like to congratulate all IUers on your graduation, and I hope that you can gain more achievements in the future.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Quyen – Alumna of VNU-HCM, Deputy Director of MISA JSC Ho Chi Minh – extended her congratulations and affection to all newly graduates on December 17, 2023.
As of December, 2022, after 17 undergraduate classes and 11 graduate classes, 9323 bachelors and baccalaureus, and 1042 Masters and Ph.Ds graduated from IU. Among the 1403 new bachelors and baccalaureus this year, 282 bachelors graduated in 4+0 twinning program with the University of West of England.
The university decided to award the title of valedictorian to the new bachelor of Economics, Ms. Pham Thi Lan Anh, with the GPA of 91.2/100, and the new baccalaureus Mr. Le Dang Khoa (Science Engineering major) to be the valedictorian in Engineering majors with the GPA of 93.2/100. In addition, the school awarded 25 silver medals to the fresh bachelors and baccalaureus of 12 schools and departments with graduation scores from 80 to 89. The school also praised and awarded 140 excellent female baccalaureus to honor female students majoring in Engineering.

For the graduate programs, this year, Ms. Tran Van Nhi, a master student from the Biotechnology major, graduated as the Valedictorian of Master Class 2023. Moreover, Ms. Ninh Thi Trang, an MBA graduate, was entitled the Valedictorian of Master Class 2023.

In the end, the newly graduated Ph.Ds, Masters, Bachelors, and Baccalaureus tossed their mortar boards to celebrate the Graduation Day, welcoming a brand new chapter of their lives.
Since 2012, most of the university’s students have been employed right after graduation. On average, each year, depending on the major, about 95% of IU’s students work in their same field of training one year after graduation. Among students who are employed about 28% of graduates are working at foreign companies and corporations, 35% of graduates work at corporations and companies which have various foreign elements or are associated with foreign nations. Also, according to the assessment of employee-user units, 94% of enterprises are satisfied with the training quality from the school. In addition, many bachelors and baccalaureus are granted with postgraduate or Ph.D program scholarships from many foreign universities, with great achievements in scientific research. Among them, many former students have become young lecturers of the school. |
