DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER PHAM BINH MINH VISITED INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY
In the morning of October 3rd, 2020, International University (VNU-HCM) welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh to the university. This is one of the main activities in the series of visits and attendance the Academic Year 2020 Opening Ceremony, VNU-HCM. International University is the only destination Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh paid a visit to this time.
Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Thanh Dat – President of VNU-HCM – visited International University in the morning of October 3rd, 2020
Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh visited the university and listened to the university leaders, departments and schools’ introduction of the university, its facilities and the modern laboratory system. The Deputy Prime Minister was impressed with the research products of the School of Biomedical Engineering such as bio-glue, antibacterial bandage, Nano medicine, machines for remote disease examination and prevention, and intelligent biomedical tools. The Deputy Prime Minister was interested in the applicability of biomedical products and expressed the hope that they would be brought to the commercial market soon.

Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh also visited the Laboratory of School of Biotechnology, listened to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thuan – Dean of School of Biotechnology – introduced the research process of genetic transplantation, embryo removal, supportive treatment for cell cloning technology. The Deputy Prime Minister also paid attention to the researches of the School of Biotechnology which are being coordinated with maternity hospitals such as Hung Vuong Hospital (HCMC) in bringing happiness to people with difficulty during labor or delivery
Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh listened to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thuan’s – Dean of School of Biotechnology – introduction about the current scientific research on embryonic cells.
The Academic year Opening Ceremony of VNU-HCM is a major cultural and educational event in Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country, so it always receives special attention of the Party and State’s senior leaders. This year, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh is the keynote speaker at VNU-HCM’s Academic year Opening Ceremony.
