International University celebrates the graduation of more than 800 fresh graduates
More than 800 students from 8 Schools and Departments of International University (IU) – VNU-HCM have become fresh graduates at the university’s 12th Graduation Ceremony, which was held in two days – 3-4, November. Among them, there are more than 400 students from School and Departments majoring in Engineering attended the session on November 3, 2018; and nearly 400 students from the School of Business and students from the collaborative training programs with the University of West of England joined the graduation session on 4 November.
Among more than 800 new graduates of the 2014-2018 batch, there is an excellent graduate (gold medal) and 169 very good graduates. The student from the School of Information Science and Engineering – Do Quoc Thinh – graduates with excellent grades, 90/100, wins the gold medal, and becomes IU’s valedictorian this year. In this year’s ceremony, IU has awarded 20 silver medals to 20 new bachelors, engineers from 8 schools, departments with achievement grades of 80-89 points. Especially, on this 12th Graduation Ceremony, there were 4 international students graduates. Among 4 of them, Kim Ji Song, a Korean student, graduates with a very good degree in Business Administration. In addition, IU also presents honor rewards for 53 excellent female engineers.
The rate of IU’s fresh graduates having a job right after graduation if very high. Since 2012, this figure has been as high as 60%, and more than 90% of the graduates can get a job that match their majors within one year after graduation. As of November 2018, there have been more 4600 bachelors and engineering graduate the IU’s 12-graduation batches.
