INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY HOSTED “DOUBLE-MAJOR AND BS-MS INFO DAY 2023”
In the morning of March 9th, 2023, International University (IU) – VNU-HCM hosted the Double-major and BS-MS Info day 2023 with the participation of more than 1000 IU students.
This is IU’s first “Double-major and BS-MS Info day.” The event was filled with many pieces of information that allow participants to grasp the latest news related to IU double-major program’s curriculum and BS-MS accelerated program’s curriculum.
The Office of Graduate Affairs gave consultations to students regarding the BS-MS accelerated program.
During his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dinh Duc Anh Vu, Vice-President of IU emphasized the competence advantages of double-major students compared to those of the one-major students as the former group is better equipped with skills and knowledge from various fields.

To begin the sharing session, Dr. Huynh Kha Tu – Head of Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs – introduced IU’s double-major program as a way for students to enroll in a second major, which is different from their first major. For the second major, students only need to accumulate the required added credits. Upon graduating, students can receive degrees of two majors.

During the opening part, Assoc. Prof. Le Dinh Minh Tri – Head of Office of Graduate Affairs – shared pieces of information related the BS-MS accelerated program operated by IU: “Students who are majoring in one of the 10 Undergraduate studies including Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering & Automation, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Food Technology, Logistics and Supply Chain Management can apply to the Master program after graduating and meeting the program’s requirements. All juniors and seniors that have completed at least 50% of their curriculum’s number of credits, at the time of registration, and accumulated the GPA of at least 70 are eligible for enrollment.”

Assoc. Prof. Dinh Duc Anh Vu handed a bouquet as a gift to Mr. Tong Chi Thong B.Eng. – Alumnus of School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, who graduated with honors, and at the same time, receiving two engineering degrees in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Industrial and Systems Engineering in 2019.
Besides the useful consultation sessions, the event also saw the energetic performance from Anh Tu – Runner-up of The Voice 2017. He also enthusiastically talked to many IU students.
