INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY WELCOMES NEARLY 2,600 FRESHMEN WITH THE ONLINE OPENING CEREMONY
On the morning of October 30th, 2021, International University – Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam National University held the opening ceremony of the school year 2021-2022. In this opening session, International University welcomed nearly 2,600 freshmens from 47 provinces and cities across the country. Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, this is the first time the school’s opening ceremony has been conducted online.

The academic year 2021-2022 is the school year that International University welcomes nearly 2,600 Freshmens from seven different enrollment methods (the highest number of admission methods in the country). In which, 1731 students came from the national high school graduation examination, 298 became new students from the competency assessment exam organized by VNU-HCM and 7 students with excellent achievements won national, international awards or gifted schools in the country.

In the academic year 2021-2022, International University has 21 undergraduate majors (in which 1 new major and 1 reopening), 08 graduate and 04 doctoral training programs. In particular, the school also has 30 associate programs at all levels of study, with a variety of training disciplines and affiliate models, helping students easily choose the most suitable study path according to their needs. Current affiliated majors at the university include Business Administration, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, English Language, Food Technology, Industrial Systems Engineering with some of the leading universities in the world can be mentioned as the University of the West of England, the University of Nottingham (UK), the University of New South Wales, Deakin University (Australia), Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand) or the University of Houston (USA).
The school spends 32 billion VND to award scholarships for enrollment in 2021
In order to encourage undergraduate and graduate students with good results, the International University annually spends over 37 billion VND from the school’s funding source to provide scholarships to students and students who achieve good results in the entrance exam as well as those who achieved good academic results at school. Scholarships are based on the academic achievements of each student, including: Full scholarships (100% of tuition fees – from VND 108 million to VND 156 million) and Partial scholarships (50% or 25% of tuition fees – from VND 108 million to VND 156 million). 27 million to 78 million dong). In this new school year, the school awarded 171 scholarships with a total value of nearly 24 billion to honor and reward new students with high achievements in the recent university entrance exam. Among the excellent candidates who received a 4-year full scholarship from the Admission Council, there were 4 new valedictorians: Nguyen Thi Khanh Ha – Alumnus of Gifted High School (VNU-HCM) – is the Dean of Admissions in 2021 Method 6th of International University with a score of 1041. Ha is a Freshman of Data Science – Faculty of Information Technology. Le Vu Phuong Thao – Former student of Pedagogical Practice High School – Can Tho University – Dean Admission in 2021 Mode 4th of International University with 28.77. Thao is a new student at the Faculty of Business Administration. Method 1 has 2 valedictorians with the same 28.15 points, Tran Duc Anh – Alumnus of Nguyen Khuyen Middle and High School (Binh Duong) and Thach Tran Dang Khoa – Alumnus of Tien Giang School for the Gifted (Tien Giang). Both the valedictorians of mode 1 are Freshmens of the Faculty of Business Administration.

After nearly 18 years of establishment and development, International University has become one of the prestigious state universities in the Vietnamese higher education system with 12 training programs that meet the evaluation standards of the Network of Southeast Asia University (AUN-QA) and 02 training programs meeting the ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accreditation standards. International University is a quality educational institution accredited by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET – 2016). In particular, the university is one of 7 universities out of a total of more than 7,000 universities in Southeast Asia that have met the AUN-QA’s educational institution level assessment (2018).
With the excellent achievements that International University has achieved for many consecutive years, in 2019 International University was honored to receive the Labor Medal II from the President and the emulation flag of the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
