11 SUBJECTS IN THE WORLD’S TOP 500 CURRENTLY OFFERED AT INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY

On March 12th, 2025, the QS World University Ranking organization released its annual university rankings by subjects. Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) has 18 subjects ranked among the world’s best, an increase of seven subjects compared to 2024. Among them, VNU-HCM had 1 subject in the global Top 100, 1 in the Top 200, 3 in the Top 300, 10 in the Top 400, and 15 in the Top 500. Notably, the International University (IU) had 11 subjects ranked highly, with eight of them placed in the world’s Top 500.

International University (IU) takes pride in having several subjects ranked alongside those of VNU-HCM in the latest QS World University Rankings. The subjects listed in this year’s ranking include: Engineering – Civil and Structural (Top 201-275); Linguistics (Top 251-300); Mathematics (Top 301-350); Accounting – Finance (Top 301-375); Engineering – Chemical (Top 351-400); Engineering – Electrical & Electronic (Top 351-400); Computer Science & Information Systems (Top 451-500); Environmental Sciences (Top 401-450); Business & Management Studies (Top 401-450); Physics & Astronomy (Top 501-550); Chemistry (Top 601-650).

This year, the Civil Engineering program has achieved a ranking of Top 201-275 in the prestigious QS World University Rankings.

Additionally, IU has been making continuous efforts to achieve international accreditation for its academic programs. As of March 2025, the university has successfully attained the following accreditations:14 programs accredited by the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA), 11 programs accredited by the Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences, and Mathematics (ASIIN) in Europe, 2 programs accredited by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) in Switzerland, 2 programs accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) in the United States, and 1 program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) in the United States.

The Electrical & Electronic Engineering program has achieved a ranking of Top 351-400 in the prestigious QS World University Rankings.
