IU School of Economics, Finance, and Accounting (EFA) is a leading school in Vietnam that provides high-quality education programs in economics, finance, and accounting. ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

The School of Economics, Finance, and Accounting prepares students with working professionalism, rich business knowledge, and skills for key positions in domestic and international enterprises, multinational corporations, non-governmental organizations, research institutions, state agencies, etc. Students are trained to obtain various skills throughout their time at the school including teamwork, independent and critical thinking, creativity, professional communication, time management, legal and social understanding, and advanced professional English. The school also integrates and standardizes education programs in the practicality direction to meet the standards of professional certificates such as CFA, CMA, ICAEW, ACCA, and CPA.

The school offers undergraduate programs focusing on three specializations: Economics, Finance, and Accounting.

All academic programs are delivered by well-qualified lecturers who graduated from prestigious universities around the world. The school adopts textbooks and other learning materials from reputable international publishers in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Students have the opportunity to study in a dynamic environment with advanced education methods and modern facilities, supported by up-to-date financial and business data and reports from the Thomson Reuters database system.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

New graduates from the School of Economics, Finance, and Accounting can start their careers at financial companies, securities companies, banks, financial funds, and multinational auditing companies or work as accountants, auditors, tax advisors, cost control specialists, bankers, financial analysts, risk analyst, business support analyst, financial accounting researcher, etc. The school has a broad alumni network who are working at well-known organizations such as HSBC, ANZ, Unilever, KPMG, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Ernst & Young, Intel, Nokia, AC Nielsen, and Ogilvy & Mather. RESEARCH ORIENTATION

With the vision of developing the International University – VNU-HCM into a top research institution, scientific research is regarded as one of the most important missions in the development process. The school strives to be one of the world’s most prestigious schools for scientific research and policy advising in economics, finance, and accounting.

Currently, the school’s researchfocuses on the following areas:

– Research into new international integration trends in the financial sector (at the city, country, free trade zone, and other multilateral economic organizations level) and the trend of changing economic and financial development policies.

– Research into potential financial difficulties to build a foundation for the formulation and execution of a financial-monetary integration strategy in the period 2022-2026.

– Conducting research on  the macroeconomic policy coordination in the context of new economic-financial integration to support the socioeconomic development plan for the period 2022-2026.

– Policies and institutions related to accounting, auditing, tax and finance in Vietnam in the integration period.

– Accounting-audit education and training, behavior of accountants, auditors, professional ethics, internal control, internal audit.

– Application of international accounting standards, Vietnamese accounting standards, and current accounting rules in Vietnamese businesses.

– Conducting research on international markets, international trade, global supply chains and value chains; as well as the impact of bilateral and multilateral agreements on international investment flows in Vietnam.

– Conducting research on fiscal and monetary policy; financial market research and development, banking system restructuring, and financial management and banking administration challenges.

– Conducting research on new theories in modern business; enterprise competitive advantages in the knowledge economy and modern business franchising trends.

– Conducting research on foreign investment and refining legal institutions and corporate governance models in the context of international economic integration; investigating and using information technology and perfecting information systems in management; and conducting e-commerce research.

– Conducting research on economic statistics and financial accounting; researching economic development models based on the national innovation system, from the micro to the macro level.
