EIGHT ENGINEERING AND BACHELOR’S PROGRAMMES AT INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY – VNU-HCM ACHIEVED FULL-TERM ASIIN ACCREDITATION

International University – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) has marked a significant milestone. Eight engineering and bachelor’s programmes have achieved the maximum duration of acknowledgement from ASIIN. The decision, announced during the ASIIN Accreditation Council meeting held on March 25th, 2025, guarantees the university’s commitment to international education standards.

ASIIN (Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics) is one of the prestigious accreditation agencies within the European higher education system that specialises in evaluating programmes in engineering, technology, and natural sciences. The accreditation not only reflects the teaching quality but also establishes a foundation for academic collaboration, research partnerships, and student exchange programmes with top-notch universities worldwide.

According to ASIIN, there are eight accredited programmes at IU, including:

  1. Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering (School of Civil Engineering and Management)
  2. Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering (School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering)
  3. Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology (School of Computer Science and Engineering)
  4. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (School of Computer Science and Engineering)
  5. Bachelor of Science in Data Science (School of Computer Science and Engineering)
  6. Bachelor of Engineering in Control Engineering and Automation (School of Electrical Engineering)
  7. Bachelor of Engineering in Space Engineering (Department of Physics)
  8. Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (School of Biotechnology, Department of Applied Chemistry).

These programmes have been accredited until September 30th, 2029, which is the maximum accreditation duration according to ASIIN’s standard. In 2024, IU also received ASIIN institutional accreditation.

Achieving ASIIN accreditation not only consolidates the school’s reputation within the Vietnamese higher education system but also benefits students. With internationally accredited degrees, students who graduate from these programmes will attain greater employment opportunities, further studies, and research in advanced academic environments around the world.

Additionally, the accreditation facilitates deeper collaboration with international universities, research institutions, and businesses—enhancing teaching quality and expanding internship opportunities for students.
