INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY ACHIEVES ASIIN INSTITUTIONAL-LEVEL ACCREDITATION
Recently, International University (IU -VNU-HCM) has been officially accredited at the institutional level by ASIIN (Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences, and Mathematics) for the maximum validity period of 7 years.
ASIIN has been recognized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (Decision No. 1941/QĐ-BGDĐT) to operate in Vietnam since June 16, 2021. It is authorized to conduct assessment and accreditation activities based on the quality assurance process documented in its application file and within the validity period of the accreditation activities specified in the re-registration certificate issued by the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR). These activities apply to higher education institutions and programs at all levels in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, mathematics and statistics, IT, educational sciences, and teacher training.
Previously, from October 18-19, 2023, IU was honored to welcome a delegation of experts from ASIIN to conduct institutional-level accreditation. Following two days of comprehensive on-site work at IU and a year-long review of IU’s records and documents, ASIIN decided to recognize IU as officially achieving institutional-level accreditation under ASIIN standards for the maximum validity period of 7 years (from September 30, 2023, to September 30, 2030). IU is the first university in Vietnam to achieve institutional-level accreditation based on ASIIN standards. This milestone represents a significant step forward for IUto expand cooperative relationships with prestigious European universities and enhance its global outreach.

International University also achieved educational quality accreditation based on the Ministry of Education and Training’s (MOET) Standards in 2016 and achieved institutional-level quality assessment accreditation based on the standards of the Asian University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA).
Driven by its commitment to continuous improvement and internationalization, achieving ASIIN institutional-level accreditation is one of the main strategic objectives of International University during the period of 2021-2025. ASIIN recognized IU’s strengths in its management systems, regulations, training activities, learner assessment, and support services for faculty and learners. This accomplishment reflects IU’s ongoing dedication to innovation and enhancement of its educational quality, providing learners with an internationally recognized learning environment.
