UNITOUR SEMINAR: SHAPING A SUSTAINABLE MINDSET FOR GREEN CAREERS BY INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY

On March 19, the International University – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (IU) collaboration with ASSIST, organized the seminar “Unitour:  Shaping a Sustainable Mindset for Green Careers.” The event aimed to raise awareness among students about sustainable development and provide them with opportunities to explore future green career prospects. This initiative is part of the Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals (P4G) program, which supports sustainability-driven collaborations worldwide.

The workshop focused on the theme “Mindset for a Green Career Path,” enabling students, faculty and lecturers to explore new perspectives on sustainability in shaping future careers. Participants had the opportunity to gain inspiring real-world insights from experts in green entrepreneurship and technology.

Ms. Trần Thị Ngọc Diệp, M.A., Head of the Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer  at  International University, emphasized the importance of building awareness and sustainable career orientations among the younger generation.

Especially, Ms. Tôn Nữ Thị Ninh, Chair of the Ho Chi Minh City Peace and Development Foundation, noted: “Education serves as the foundation for young people to enhance their knowledge and develop sustainable perspective. The process of sustainable development requires steady progress, with dynamic and creative young talent playing a crucial role in driving the green transition and fostering green entrepreneurship.”

At the seminar, representatives from notable green startups shared firsthand insights into their entrepreneurial journeys and product development processes.

Mr. Hồ Việt Hải, Founder and CEO of Alterno Vietnam, a pioneer in developing Cat Battery technology to optimize clean energy storage and reduce emissions in production.

Mr. Stefan Kaufmann, Founder and CEO of EBOOST, a startup specializing in electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, promoting sustainable transportation and a cleaner energy ecosystem in Vietnam.

The event attracted significant interest and questions from students and faculty, focusing on the practical requirements from businesses regarding sustainable development skills and knowledge in recruitment. Experts shared various real-life stories, motivating the young generation to confidently pursue green and sustainable career paths.

At the end of the seminar, Tôn Nữ Thị Ninh once again conveyed a powerful message to Vietnamese youth, emphasizing that a green mindset and a commitment to sustainability not only foster personal growth but also contribute to a sustainable future for our country.
