02 PROJECTS OF INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY STUDENTS WIN THE INCENTIVE AND THE THIRD WINNER IN THE “START-UP IDEAS – CIC 2021” COMPETITION

On October 31, 2021, an extremely thrilling Final Round of the contest “Start-up Ideas – CiC 2021 in an online form. In the end, International University made an impression with 1 Incentive prize and 1 Third prize belonging to the ELLA and WORLD GIVING LOVE projects.

The CiC 2021 Final Round took place with the competition of TOP 10 student groups and TOP 10 high school student groups. During the 8 months accompanying the competition, the projects always had outstanding performances and successfully affirmed the value of the project/product through impressive breakthroughs in each round of the competition.

WORLD GIVING LOVE project was presented at the CiC Final Round 2021

With unique ideas, potential business models, and relentless efforts, the two projects ELLA and WORLD GIVING LOVE have left a good impression, shined in their way, and have excellently won the Incentive prize and Third prize. Prizes for the Incentive Prize include VND 5,000,000/prize; 1 1-year incubation package at ITP of 100,000,000 VND and a Web service support package from VNU.DC (of 2,000 USD). Prizes for Third Prize include 10,000,000 VND/prize, a 1-year incubation package at ITP of 100,000,000 VND, and a Web service support package from VNU.DC (of 2,000 USD).

These are 02 potential projects, formed and developed from the IU Startup Demo Day 2021 contest.

The ELLA project (2nd Prize IU.SDD.2021) by a group of students from the International University and the University of Economics and Law. ELLA is an instruction application that guides users to do their makeup comfortably in their homes through the application of Augmented Reality (AR) and Machine Learning (ML), combined with Face Detection and Face Tracking. The project’s target includes people with self makeup needs but without the necessary skills and knowledge, thereby evolving into a specialized makeup community.

Meanwhile, the WORLD GIVING LOVE project, by a group of students from the International University, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the University of Science, is the foundation to help social organizations (Charities, NGOs, Social enterprises) post and update information about charity projects to call for donations. The project provides a technical solution through Smart Contracts Blockchain, controlling all transactions on the platform to be clearly and securely recorded, ensuring clarity of cash flows.

  • Tran Thi Ngoc Diep – Head of Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer represented International University – participated in the closing ceremony and awarding ceremony. Dr. Diep mentally supported the projects participating in the contest. IU has been the co-organization of the contest for the past 2 years, supporting the organization’s mission and online organization platform for the contest rounds.

Start-up Ideas – CiC, which is the annual innovation startup contest of the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City for national and international students and students, is organized by the Innovative Entrepreneurship Center of Ho Chi Minh City National University (IEC). The contest with the mission of providing students with a passion for entrepreneurship a real experience environment, a rewarding playground, and the opportunity to develop ideas/projects; help young people discover themselves, learn experiences and skills through coaching courses, training, and sharing from successful entrepreneurs, leading experts in the field, thereby supporting the implementation of their ideas.
