
INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM (IAPP) VIETNAM PARTNERSHIP ROUNDTABLE: A GATEWAY TO THE WORLD
On the afternoon of April 4, International University (IU) had the honour to participate in the IAPP VIETNAM PARTNERSHIP ROUNDTABLE CONFERENCE, which was in the framework of the International Academic Partnership Program (IAPP).
The conference was a collaboration between the U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Vietnam, the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, and the Institute of International Education (IIE). It was operated under the scope of the International Academic Partnership Program (IAPP) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Vietnam – U.S. diplomatic relations.
Among the participants wasAssoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Ngọc Duy Phương, Head of the Office of External Relations, who represented IU in discussions aimed at expanding the university’s international collaboration network with representatives from prestigious U.S. educational institutions.

The Conference brought together representatives from 21 leading U.S. universities, including Stanford University, Duke University, and Washington University in St. Louis, as well as 15 Vietnamese universities (from Da Nang and other Vietnamese southern regions), to discuss the expansion of cooperative networks and the development of sustainable partnerships in higher education.

At the IAPP Vietnam Partnership Roundtable Conference, leading experts in educational and international cooperation shared insights and strategies for developing effective international partnership programmes between universities in both countries. The discussions followed a speed-networking roundtable format, enabling delegates to maximize their networking opportunities and identify competent partners.

During the conference, International University distributed international collaboration models to U.S. institutions. These models comprise short-term student exchange programmes, transnational programmes, international internship programmes, and graduate-level research and training collaborations. The conference was considered a significant step forward and contributed to internationalisation efforts, which paved the way for further expansion into the global academic market.

IU is the first public university in Vietnam to apply English as the primary language of instruction. The school’s academic training programmes are compiled according to global standards, assisted by an extensive network of partnerships with top-notch global universities. Therefore, participation in the IAPP Vietnam Partnership Roundtable Conference marked a crucial milestone in IU’s far-reaching global integration, reinforcing the university’s commitment to high-quality education and international academic cooperation.
