INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY HOSTS SEMINAR ON “EXPERIENCES IN IMPLEMENTING INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEMS IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS”
On the morning of October 23, International University – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (IU – VNU-HCM) organized a seminar titled “Experiences in Implementing Internal Quality Assurance Systems in Higher Education Institutions.” The seminar aimed to enhance professional capacity, update knowledge and practical experience for IU’s staff, lecturers, and specialists, while creating a vital platform for discussing and sharing best practices ineducational quality assurance.
The seminar featured engaging presentations from two guest speakers: Dr. Võ Thị Tuyết Giang, Deputy Head of the Testing and Quality Assurance Office at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, and Dr. Nguyễn Huy Phúc, Head of the Testing and Quality Assurance Office at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry. Joining them were AUN-QA team leaders, assessors, and training experts. The event also welcomed participants from the Center for Educational Testing and Quality Assessment – VNU-HCM, as well as representatives from the Testing and Quality Assurance Offices of other VNU-HCM member universities.
In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đinh Đức Anh Vũ, Vice President of IU, emphasized the importance of building a strong Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) system. He stated that quality assurance serves as the core foundation for sustainable development, helping to enhance the quality of education, research, community service, and international integration.

The seminar also featured insightful and practical presentations, including “Experience in Implementing the Internal Quality Assurance System at International University”, shared by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vòng Bính Long, Head of the IU Office of Educational Quality Assurance and Testing.

The second presentation focused on the model and practical implementation of the internal quality assurance system at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, delivered by Dr. Võ Thị Tuyết Giang, Deputy Head of the Office of Testing and Quality Assurance.

The third talk, titled “Experiences in Implementing Internal Quality Assurance Systems Following the AUN-QA Approach,” was presented by Dr. Nguyễn Huy Phúc, Head of the Office of Testing and Quality Assurance at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, AUN-QA Chief Assessor and Team Leader, providing the workshop with valuable and insightful information.

In addition to the reports, the discussion and exchange session was lively, featuring numerous insights and practical experiences from the workshop participants. Questions centered on topics such as information systems for quality assurance, measurement of learning outcomes, internal assessment activities, methods for collecting stakeholder feedback, quality improvement processes, inter-departmental coordination, and maintaining a quality culture within the university—all of which were thoroughly discussed and appropriately addressed.

In his closing remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vòng Bính Long, Head of the Office of Educational Quality Assurance & Testing, International University, acknowledged the valuable contributions of the speakers and participants. He emphasized that the workshop was a practical activity within IU’s series of initiatives to implement key tasks outlined by the Ministry of Education and Training in Official Dispatch No. 6400/BGDĐT-GDĐH dated October 10, 2025, concerning the development of internal quality assurance systems and the building of a quality culture in accordance with Decision No. 78/QĐ-TTg of the Prime Minister.
The workshop concluded in a spirit of openness, cooperation, and knowledge sharing, reflecting the strong commitment of International University to continuously enhance its internal quality assurance system and move toward international standards in higher education.
