INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY RELEASES OFFICIAL 2025 ADMISSIONS INFORMATION

On the morning of June 18, 2025, the Admissions Council of International University (VNU-HCM) officially released the university’s admissions policy for 2025.

Specifically, the university announced three admissions methods for this year, along with several accompanying guidelines.

Admission Process

a)     Method 1: Direct and Priority Admission

(1) Direct Admission and Priority Admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

  • Application and submission period (tentative): From June 15, 2025 to June 30, 2025.Instructions for registration and submission:
  • Step 1: Visit the website: hcmiu.edu.vn to fill in the registration information within the designated application time.
  • Step 2: After successful registration, the candidate must print the application form, attach a photo, sign, and obtain confirmation from their high school.
  • Step 3: Submit the complete application documents in person or via express mail to the following address:
    Undergraduate Academic Affairs Office (O2.708), InternationalUniversity,Quarter 6, Linh Trung Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Application documents for direct/prioritized admission:
  • The direct/prioritized admission application form printed from the registration system after completing Step 1 and Step 2 of the registration instructions.
  • Notarized copies of high school transcripts for Grades 10, 11 and 12.
  • Notarized copies of award certificates.
  • Notarized copy of ID card/citizen credential.

(2) For candidates eligible for priority admission or direct priority admission under the regulations of VNU-HCM.

  • Application update and submission period (tentative): From June 10, 2025 to June 30, 2025.
  • Instructions for updating information and submitting documents:
  • Step 1: Candidates update their information and print the application update form from the centralized system of VNU-HCM: https://dangky.tuyensinh.vnuhcm.edu.vn.
  • Step 2: Candidates complete the form by signing and obtaining confirmation from their high school.
  • Step 3: Candidates prepare the complete set of application documents as required. Then, they submit the documents either online (as per a separate notice) or directly at the following address:
    International University – Undergraduate Academic Affairs Office (O2.708), Quarter 6, Linh Trung Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Documents required for updating application information:
  • Application update form (printed from the VNU-HCM system with confirmation from the high school);
  • Notarized photocopy of the complete high school transcript (Grades 10, 11, and 12);
  • Notarized photocopy of ID card/Citizen ID;
  • Award certificate or commendation of achievements in provincial/city-level academic competitions (copy or confirmation from the high school);
  • Other certificates, commendations, or documents related to academic performance and conduct during high school;
  • A handwritten essay by the applicant expressing their aspirations for the chosen major/field (required for those applying under direct priority admission);
  • Notarized photocopy of English language certificate (if available).

(3) Admission for Candidates Graduating from International High Schools.

  • Application update and submission period: To be announced.
  • Application submission instructions:

  • For candidates of foreign nationalities, students from bilingual high schools or those enrolled in high school programs with international elements: Submit the application at the International Education Exchange Center (O2.604), International University, Quarter 6, Linh Trung Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, or contact for submission support via email: cim@hcmiu.edu.vn.
  • Application Documents:
  • Application form.
  • Notarized copy of high school transcript.
  • Notarized copy of high school diploma/graduation certificate.
  • Three 3×4 photos.
  • Notarized copy of passport.
  • Notarized copy of IELTS or TOEFL iBT certificate (if available).
  • Notarized copy of international exam result certificates (if available).

For SAT, IB, and ACT score reports, candidates must contact the issuing organizations to request that original results be sent directly to International University via the official systems in place using the following information:

For other test results, candidates must submit notarized copies of said results.

b)       Method 2: Admission based on the 2025 VNU-HCM Competency Assessment Exam

– Registration Period: From July 16 to 5:00 PM on July 28, 2025..

– How to register: Candidates register their admission preferences through the Ministry of Education and Training’s Information System or the National Public Service Portal according to the Ministry’s general plan.

c)       Method 3: Admission based on 2025 National High School Graduation Examination Results– Round 1: From July 16 to 5:00 PM on July 28, 2025. This will be carried out in accordance with the regulations, schedule, and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education and Training in 2025.

  • Supplementary Round: To be announced by IU (if available).

Priority Policies

  • Priority policies based on candidate categories and geographical regions will be implemented in accordance with admissions regulations and the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and VNU-HCM.
  • Direct admission and priority admission will follow the official university and college admissions regulations for 2025 issued by the Ministry of Education and Training:
  • Candidates who have won First, Second, or Third Place in the National Excellent Student Exam or are members of the national team participating in international Olympiads, and have graduated from high school are eligible for direct admission into university programs corresponding to the subject in which they won or competed, as outlined below:

 + Candidates who win First, Second, or Third Prize in the National Science and Engineering Fair, or who are members of the national team participating in the International Science and Engineering Fair (with project topics relevant to International University’s majors), and have graduated from high school, are eligible for direct admission into the appropriate major or a closely related field. The Admissions Council of the university will determine the eligible major based on the awarded project.

+ Majors/fields prioritized for admission consideration: The university’s Admissions Council will determine the priority majors for each candidate based on the candidate’s preferences and the available quota for each major.

Application and Exam Fees

Candidates must pay the required application and examination fees according to the instructions and regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
