INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY SIGNS AN MOU IN COOPERATION WITH THE UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER HCMC (UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY IN HO CHI MINH CITY)
On the afternoon of September 6, 2022, International University (IU-VNU) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University Medical Center HCMC (University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City).
Attending the program were Assoc. Prof. Tran Tien Khoa – President of IU-VNU, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thi Hiep – Dean of School of Biomedical Engineering, IU-VNU, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phuong Thao – Head of the Office of External and Public Relations concurrently Director of the Research Center for Infectious Diseases (RCID) of IU-VNU – and the representatives of related offices, schools and departments. On the side of the University Medical Center HCMC (University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City), there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Bac – Director of the Hospital, Prof. Dr. Truong Quang Binh – Deputy Director of the Hospital and the leaders of the departments and faculties.

Therefore, based on the needs of society, the development of International University as well as the existing capacity of the Hospital, we believe that the cooperation will open up a new direction, providing more products with high quality and values to the community.” – said Assoc. Assoc. Prof. Tran Tien Khoa also sent his best wishes for health and success to the representatives of University Medical Center HCMC (University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City). With the orientation for development as a research university, Assoc. Prof. Tran Tien Khoa shared the joy of cooperating with the Hospital in promoting research activities, and bringing practical values to community health care: “We hope there will be more cooperation programs in the future in order to create more opportunities for the development and connection between the University and the Hospital”.

This MOU is made possible on the basis of cooperation in developing training programs together with research and technology transfer, in which priority is given to the following areas: Research and application of technology; Coordinating and support of connection with companies and corporations to deploy production and commercialize research results; Coordinating research, scientific publication and development of softwares based on the exploitation of clinical and paraclinical data warehouses from the University Medical Center HCMC (University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City). In addition, the two parties will delegate personnel and prepare facilities for teaching and research purposes; exchange students, trainees, officials and employees to visit and practice when necessary; cooperate in organizing academic exchange activities including but not limited to: conferences, seminars, thematics.
After the official signing ceremony, both parties will jointly promote the fields of training, research, and external relations to facilitate the building and training of a number of programs, bolster the mutual exchange of professional information as well as academic exchanges together with research cooperation and preparre high-quality human resources which are capable of working in domestic and international environments.

Currently, in addition to the School of Biomedical Engineering, other units of IU-VNU such as the School of Biotechnology and RCID are also implementing cooperation activities with the University Medical Center HCMC (University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City). This MOU is considered an official statement showing the goodwill of cooperation between IU-VNU and the University Medical Center (University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City) with the desire to implement the agreed terms.
