INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY WELCOMED 62 GRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS IN THE SECOND INTAKE OF 2022
On February 10th, 2023, International University – VNU-HCM (IU-VNU-HCM) organized the Opening Ceremony for the Graduate Programs in the Second Intake of 2022. 62 Graduate and Postgraduate students (GP Students) of IU officially begun their journey in the University’s Graduate Programs.
The ceremony began with some emotional performances from IEM Art Club. The performances from the students brought a soothing touch to the energetic ambiance of the ceremony.

Assoc. Prof. Tran Tien Khoa – President of IU – congratulated the GP Students on officially becoming a part of the University and beginning their studying journey in IU: “I would like to send you a few words taken from a famous quote carved on the wall of Harvard University’s library. The pain of study is only for a moment, but the pain of not having studied is forever.”

Continuing the event, Assoc. Prof. Le Dinh Minh Tri – Head of Office of Graduate Affairs – provided the students with important notes in the curriculum such as the length, maximum gap time, the University’s accreditations, English proficiency requirement for graduation, etc.

To encourage the students, IU granted the excellent students with many encouraging scholarships. Assoc. Prof. Tran Tien Khoa – President of IU – and Assoc. Prof. Dinh Duc Anh Vu – Vice-President of IU – took turns to deliver the admission scholarships to the new GP students of Economics and Engineering for their excellent achievements in the admission.

On behalf of the GP students, Mr. Dao Van Han, new Postgraduate student and lecturer of VNU-HCM School of Political and Administrative Sciences, shared his thoughts: “I, as well as all the new students here, have gone through a strict and professional admission process to be here. We have the right to be proud of what we have done and have been through this whole time. I am even more proud to be a part of IU, a university famous for its excellent achievements in teaching and research.”
On behalf of the GP students, Mr. Dao Van Han, the new Postgraduate student of Public Administration, shared his thoughts on the day and his plan for the future.
At the end of the event, the lecturers and the GP students took photos with the Board of Presidents, Office of Graduate Affairs and Schools/ Centers before returning to their private meeting room for specialized discussion.
