Nearly 1,000 new BA and BSc graduates and Masters graduated from International University in 2019
On November 22 and 23, 2019, International University – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City held the 2019 Graduation Ceremony. This is the first year that International University held the combined Graduation Ceremony of undergraduate and postgraduate training programs. Nearly 1,000 students from 8 faculties and departments of International University have become the fresh masters, BA graduates and engineers in this 13th Graduation Ceremony of International University.

Founded in December 2003, International University is a public university that uses English as its primary language in teaching and research. Up to October, 2019, with 13 undergraduate graduations and 8 postgraduate graduations, International University has trained a total of 5532 bachelors and engineers, 625 masters and doctors of philosophy.

Among nearly 850 new graduates and engineers who graduate this year, 149 new graduates are from the joint program 4+0 with University of the West of England. In 2019, 5 students graduated with honors, of which the university awarded gold medals to 3 most impressive students. This year, International University has nearly 200 graduates with excellent grades. The school also awarded the title of valedictorian to Nguyen Thi Hanh Tien, new bachelor of Business Administration, with a GPA of 90.1/100, and Tran Minh Phuong Nam, new engineer of Biotechnology, with a GPA of 93.1/100 points. In addition, the university awarded 15 silver medals to 15 new graduates and engineers of 8 schools and departments with GPA from 80 to 89. The university also awarded a reward for 74 female engineers for graduation. Especially, this year, International University has an excellent student, Tong Chi Thong, who graduated with honors from two majors, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Industrial Systems Engineering. Among the graduate in 2019, many students participated in high quality scientific research papers, such as Dang Thi Le Hang, a students with 05 SCI/SCIE research articles, of which she was the main author of 3.

Since 2012, 60% of the students graduating from International University have found jobs after graduation. Up to now, depending on the industry, about 88-97% of the International University graduates found suitable jobs in accordance with their majors within one year after graduation. Among the employed students, an average of 28% of graduates are working in foreign companies and corporations, 35% of graduates are working in foreign-linked or foreign-associated corporations and companies. Also according to the evaluation of employers, 94% of businesses are satisfied with the quality of training from the school. In addition, many bachelors and engineers from International University receive scholarships from foreign universities, achieve many scientific research goals. Among them, many alumni have become young lecturers of the university.

With the focus on economics, management, engineering and science and technology, International University invests not only in undergraduate but also postgraduate programs. Currently, the University has 4 PhD programs in 3 years (Biotechnology, Business Administration with 2 programs, and Biomedical Engineering) and 8 Master’s programs in the 1.5 to 2 years (Business Administration, Biotechnology, Information Technology Management, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Public Management and Food Technology). Among which, 2 master’s programs accredited by AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network) are Biotechnology and Industrial Systems Engineering.

Currently, there are 789 students following the postgraduate training program of International University, including 739 master’s degree students and 50 doctoral students. After 8 graduations, the number of students graduating each year is increasing. In 2019, the International University has 95 graduates, including 36 graduates from the Public Management program affiliated with the Ho Chi Minh City Cadre Academy.
