International University held the construction commencement ceremony of QT.A1 building
This morning, November 24, 2019, International University – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (IU) held the Construction Commencement Ceremony of the administration – research building – QT.A1 under the project QGHCM10.
The construction commencement ceremony of the administration – research building QT.A1 of International University took place in the morning of November 24, 2019.
The construction is based on Decision No. 1209/QĐ-ĐHQG dated October 31, 2017; Decision No. 290/QĐ-ĐHQG dated April 1, 2019; Decision No. 641/QĐ-ĐHQG dated June 3, 2019 of VNU-HCM approving the construction investment projects, designs and cost estimates, and contractor selection plans for bidding packages of investment projects. The total investment is more than 170 billion VND including International University’s own fund, the loan from stimulus program of Ho Chi Minh City and other loans.
Dr. Tran Tien Khoa – Rector of International University – delivered the opening speech at the commencement ceremony of the new 15-storey building.
The project is designed with a scale of 1 basement and 15 floors. The project is located in the central area of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, in Dong Hoa ward, Di An town, Binh Duong province. With the height of 61.5m on an area of 1,548m2, the total construction floor area of the building is 14,250m2. The work is expected to be completed in June, 2021.

Founded in December 2003, International University is a public university that uses English as the main language in teaching and research. International University has nearly 9000 undergraduate students and nearly 800 graduate students, researchers. The university has 20 undergraduate programs, 08 masters programs and 04 doctoral programs. Up to November, 2019, 11 programs of the University have been accredited by AUN-QA, including 09 undergraduate programs and 02 master’s degree programs. In particular, the International University has become the third university in Vietnam to be accredited at institutional level by AUN-QA. Moreover, 2 training programs of International University have been accredited by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology)
