THE FIRST TIME THAT INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY ORGANIZED AN ONLINE CONFERENCE OF EMPLOYEE-OFFICER DELEGATES

In 2021, due to the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Conference of Officers and Employees of the International University (VNU-HCM) was first held online via zoom software on the morning of February 20, 2021. The number of attendees was 183 officials and employees who were summoned out of a total of 486 officials and employees of the university. The conference was honored to welcome Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of VNU-HCM, and M.S. Lam Tuong Thoai, Chairman of the Trade Union of VNU-HCM.

The conference discussed reports such as the Summary report for 2020-2021 and the direction of the work mission for 2021-2022 which were presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu, Assoc. Principal of the school.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Canh, Assoc. Principal of IU presented the Strategy Summary Report of the International University for the period 2016-2020. In addition, the Conference included the Strategic Plan Report of the International University for the period of 2021-2025 which was presented by the Principal of IU, Mr. Tran Tien Khoa.

Financial report for the academic year 2020-2021 was presented to 183 participants at the conference by M.S. Le Dang Thuy Trang, Deputy of the Financial Planning Department. In addition, a summary report on the activities of the People’s Inspection Committee for 2020-2021 and operational directions for 2021-2022 was also presented clearly and in detail by M.S. Nguyen Thi Thu Thao – Head of People’s Inspection Committee of IU.

After listening to the report summarizing the comments to the school from the Grassroots-level Officers Conference of the units presented by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Hong Phu, the Conference discussed and contributed to the school.

Speaking at this year’s Conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan, President of Vietnam National University-HCM, gave sincere instructions on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of governance. Mr. Vu Hai Quan hopes that the International University will continue to better the organizational model and organizational structure to ensure efficiency and leanness. Regarding training, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan expects the school to continue promoting digital transformation; boosting the association, interconnection, and parallelism programs; continually improving the publishing rate in Scopus journal, ISI. Regarding facilities, Mr. Vu Hai Quan hopes that IU will develop along with the development of the urban planning model of the National University, improve facilities and diversify the service quality provided to the officers, employees, and students. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan also highly appreciated the university’s development strategy, which is similar and linked to the strategy of VNU-HCM. At the same time, Mr. Vu Hai Quan also highly appreciated the university’s summary report and recognized the achievements of the university in the past year.

Based on the comments and directions, Principal Tran Tien Khoa expressed his gratitude to the President of VNU-HCM and acknowledged as well as comprehended the comments from the President of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. Besides, the conference received the comments and answered related questions.

The meeting voted to approve the summary report for 2020-2021, financial report and operation direction, and performance targets for 2021-2022.
