LETTER OF CONGRATULATION ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY – VIETNAM NATIONAL UNIVERSITY ON DECEMBER 05, 2021, FROM THE PRINCIPAL OF IU
Dear teachers, officers – employees, the graduates and undergraduates of the International University,
Today is December 5, 2021 – the 18th birthday of International University. On this special occasion, on behalf of the school’s leadership, I would love to send my best wishes to all teachers, officers – employees, students, and alumni of the School.
Recalling December 5, 2003, perfectly 18 years ago, International University was officially founded as a member school of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, with a mission of becoming an international educational institution. Time has flown, along with the wisdom and enthusiasm from every generation of lecturers and students of the University, all students have contributed to the development of our International University into the first and only public multi-major university in Vietnam currently to fully use English in training, teaching and research.
From 400 students of 4 training majors of the first course enrolled in 2004, up to now, we have nearly 10,000 students and graduates, 21 undergraduate training programs, 8 post-graduate training programs, 4 doctoral training programs, and 2 educational institutions with modern training facilities in Thu Duc City and the inner of Ho Chi Minh city. The school has met the accreditation standards of training institutions in the country and Southeast Asia; Many of the university’s undergraduate and postgraduate training programs has met the AUN-QA accreditation standards of Southeast Asia and the ABET standards of the United States.
The past 18-year path though has been full of difficulties and challenges, but with a sense of responsibility, enthusiasm, and hearts of educators, teachers, officers – employees, has been contributing to the school’s development more and more, and meanwhile, contributing to the general education career of the nation.
Generations of students and graduates of the University are highly appreciated by society and have made proud contributions in many fields of life, economy, and society. Many research works of the lecturers and students of the University have been applied in practice and achieved high efficiency. Many scientists and teachers of the University have been honored to be awarded prizes for their scientific research and innovation on a national and international scale.
Dear teachers, officers – employees, students of IU
In 2021, in the special context when the Covid-19 epidemic is still complicated throughout the country, the International University’s birthday celebration, which is for us to sit together and review stories that have been passed by among many generations, was impossible to be organized as in previous years. However I believe, on December 5 of this year, many hearts of generations of leaders, officers, lecturers, employees, and students will all look towards this mutual roof – International University – with pride, nostalgia, and many unforgettable memories.
The path of the next few years are the development opportunities, and so the challenges with the outstanding development of science and technology of the industrial revolution 4.0, of the digital transformation orientation. This means that it is required to have more dedication, intelligence, and further connection of the leaders, officers, lecturers, and employees of the University, who need a breakthrough change in both thinking, strategy, management, product orientation, and science-technology services. This is both a responsibility, an honor, and a commitment and expectation of previous generations to our International University – currently the first and only public multimajor university training institution to entirely use English in training, teaching and research. With the 18-year tradition, after overcoming many difficulties and challenges, together we have achieved very proud results. I believe that the International University will continue to develop sustainably and make breakthroughs in some areas.
On the 18th anniversary of the establishment of the University, on behalf of the school’s leadership, I would love to express my gratitude to the generations of leaders of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, of the International University, to generations of lecturers, officers and employees of the university, and at the same time to send sincere thanks to the alumni, students, and researchers who have made an important contribution to the brand International University like today. Sincerely I hope that former teachers, lecturers, officers, employees, and students of the whole will join with the school leaders to celebrate this day with profound and deepest feelings, coming from the bottom of our hearts to our dear International University.
Wishing all generations of officers, lecturers, and employees of the University and their families always have good health, happiness and to continue making many contributions to the career of nurturing humans.
Wishing the Ph.D. students, the graduates, the post-graduate students always have good health and achieve many new achievements in study, in research and become more and more stable, more successful in life.
Wish our International University to become more and more dynamic with sustainable development to affirm its quality and international position in the future.
