LAUNCHING THE COMPETITION TO CELEBRATE THE DIEN BIEN PHU VICTORY
The Party Committee of International University (VNU-HCM Party Union) has just launched a writing contest named “The position, role, historical significance and epochal value of the Dien Bien Phu Victory”. The contest aims to create a wide range of political activities to help officials, party members, union members and students have a profound perception of the meaning of the Dien Bien Phu victory in 1954. In addition, the contest also promotes good understanding of our army and people’s heroic tradition in the resistance war against French colonialists, whose culmination is the historic Dien Bien Phu victory. As a result, it is expected to arouse patriotism, national pride and determination to build and defend the country in the new era.
On launching this contest, the Party Committee of International University wishes to enhance the national pride, the absolute confidence in the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and encourage the entire Party and its people to fight under the glorious flag of the Communist Party of Vietnam for the independence and freedom of our country. In addition, the contest is expected to provide assurance in the precision and creativity of the path of our resistance war as well as the robust growth of the Vietnam People’s Army. At the same time, it opens a new period in revolution to continue the resistance war against the US to save the country, entirely liberate the South and reunify the country.
The contest focuses on historical events, figures and individuals who contributed to the Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954, capturing moving memories of those who directly participated in the strategic 1953 – 1954 Winter-Spring offensive and Dien Bien Phu campaign in 1954 as well as stories, events, feats of themselves and their comrades.
The contest is open to all officials, party members, union members, students of International University. Each party cell and organization (departmental union; youth union for students and staff; lecturers; student union) must submit at least 01 entry.
Time to receive entries: from April 23, 2022 to May 2, 2022. The results are to be announced on May 7, 2022.
| Entries must be written in Vietnamese, presented in the form of an essay, ranging from 1,500 words to 2,500 words each (added images are accepted if any). Entries must be typed and presented clearly on one side of A4 paper (including illustrations), size 14, font Times New Roman. Information about the author (individual or unit) and the paper itself are clearly stated on the first page of the entries. The authors must ensure and take responsibility for the authenticity and accuracy of their characters, historical events and the content of their entries. (Format saved as .pdf)
The works selected for award consideration must ensure the content adhere to the competition regulations. The entries must guarantee their authenticity and accuracy; righteous ideological and political orientation; positive impact on readers about the glorious revolutionary tradition; admiration for our motherland; inspiration for national pride and the awareness of constructing our country for all generations.
