However, he also acknowledged that the current system still faces certain limitations that need to be addressed, such as limited engagement with stakeholders (including businesses and students), inadequate facilities, and challenges related to the university’s internationalization program. Dr. Hà Thị Thanh Hương, a lecturer from the Department of Biomedical Engineering and one of the 11 individuals honored during this period, also delivered a meaningful presentation on promoting the role of female scientists in teaching, research, and community service. Dr. Hà Thị Thanh Hương emphasized the important yet often underrecognized contributions of female scientists in academia and society. She stated: “Currently, women make up 47% of the national scientific workforce. However, only 20% of female scientists hold leadership positions.” She pointed out several factors contributing to this disparity, noting that many female scientists still face significant challenges in both personal life and professional careers—such as a lack of supportive policies and the significantly heavier burden of balancing life and work. To address these issues, Dr. Hương expressed her hope for the development of more support policies for female students, as well as strategic planning and recognition programs tailored for female scientists and lecturers, helping to foster their advancement and leadership in the academic and research community.
