INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY CONTINUES ENGAGEMENT AND PARTNERSHIP ACTIVITIES AT CBIE 2025

As part of the 2025 Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) Conference held in Quebec City, Canada, International University – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, actively participated in networking and collaboration activities with the Vietnamese delegation from November 2 to 4, 2025.

Vietnam’s delegation made a significant impression at the CBIE 2025 Conference exhibition, with its booth attracting keen interest from a large number of international partners, university representatives, educational organizations, and businesses. The booth served as a space to showcase an overview of Vietnam’s higher education landscape and introduced Vietnamese universities participating in CBIE 2025.

During the event, International University (IU) engaged with international partners to explore and discuss potential collaborations in areas such as science and technology, international projects, joint training programs, faculty and student exchanges, collaborative research, and scholarship opportunities.

At the exhibition booth, International University held several meetings and discussions with its Canadian partner institutions, including the University of Victoria, York University, and Lakehead University. These exchanges aimed to strengthen and expand existing collaborative programs while exploring new opportunities for future development.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Ngọc Duy Phương – Head of the Office of External Relations – and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thu Thủy – Director General of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, and Head of the Vietnamese delegation at CBIE 2025 – were engaged in discussion with representatives from the University of Ottawa.

One of the highlights of the program was the Canada–ASEAN Roundtable Discussion, featuring a presentation by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thu Thủy, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. The session attracted significant attention from representatives of universities and international educational organizations. The discussion focused on key topics such as Vietnam’s policies on the internationalization of education, the development orientation of joint training programs, and the creation of new avenues for future cooperation.

The Vietnamese delegation met with the CBIE Executive Committee.

As part of the conference, the Vietnamese delegation also met with the CBIE Executive Committee to exchange greetings and discuss future directions for educational cooperation between the two sides.

The activities within the framework of CBIE 2025 have played an important role in strengthening and expanding the educational partnership network between Vietnamese and Canadian universities — including the International University — toward the goals of sustainable development and deeper global integration in higher education.

Concluding three productive days at the CBIE 2025 Conference, International University delegation left a strong and positive impression through its active participation in networking and international cooperation activities. In the following days, the delegation would continue its visits and meetings with various educational organizations and universities in Canada to further advance bilateral collaboration and expand academic development opportunities in the new phase.
