INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY EARNS ABET RE-ACCREDITATION FOR TWO ENGINEERING PROGRAMS

Recently, the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET (USA) officially recognized the Biomedical Engineering Program (School of Biomedical Engineering) and the Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Program (School of Electrical Engineering) of International University – VNU-HCM as meeting ABET international accreditation standards, for the maximum six-year term, valid from 2025 to 2031.

The accreditation review took place from November 10 to 12, 2024, following ABET’s rigorous international standards. The process included an in-depth evaluation of self-assessment reports, evidence verification, and interviews with faculty, students, alumni, and employers. Following the review, both programs were found to fully meet ABET’s requirements and were granted the maximum six-year accreditation, valid through September 30, 2031. These results were officially documented in ABET’s Summary of Accreditation Actions and final report, and published on ABET’s Accreditation Management System.

This accreditation reaffirms International University’s commitment to world-class education, further strengthening its reputation and standing within Vietnam’s higher education system and across the region. Graduates of the Biomedical Engineering and Electronics–Telecommunications Engineering programs are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and global mindset needed to succeed in the international job market and to pursue further study and research opportunities at leading universities worldwide.
