PROMOTING ENTREPRENEURIAL AND INNOVATIVE MINDSET TO LECTURERS AND STAFF MEMBERS

In the evening of April 27th, International University (IU) collaborated with members of VNU Community of Educators with Entrepreneurial Mindset (VNU VIBERS) to organize the workshop called “Creativity and Innovation in Education: Where to start” at IU. The workshop’s speaker was Mr. Alan Morgan, Entrepreneurial Education Specialist, UCD Innovation Academy.

During the talk, Mr. Morgan stressed the importance and necessity of innovations, especially in education. He shared: “Innovations in education must begin from changing the mindset of lecturers and educators, equipping them with the necessary tools and skills to boost their confidence and advance in their career. Moreover, it is also necessary to inspire and promote entrepreneurial mindset and other skills, virtues, and the capacity required for students, colleagues, and community. The future of our career and life is always changing and unpredictable, so we need to go further than just the fundamentals that have been taught in the public education system.”

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Alan Morgan once again highlighted the equipment of the “Entrepreneurial Mindset” as a key factor in promoting innovations in education. Through practical and vivid examples at educational institutions and organizations around the world, Mr. Alan Morgan gave important and useful suggestions to educational institutions in general and lecturers in particular so they can easily integrate the entrepreneurial mindset in teaching and learning activities, regardless of their field or level.

The workshop also welcomed speeches from members of VNU Community of Educators with Entrepreneurial Mindset (VNU VIBERS) about the reality when applying (the innovations) and the innovative practices that have been effectively executing, which formed the sustainable innovative culture and ecosystem at VNU. The staff members and lecturers participating in the workshop could notonly gain practical views toward innovating mindset but also advanced the skills and ways to convey their knowledge to students and to interact with colleagues. Moreover, the staff members and lecturers actively discussed with the speakers about their personal opinions on the subject matter.

IU staff members and lecturers listened closely to the workshop hosted by Dr. Nguyen Thu Le Hang – Lecturer from Faculty of English Language Teacher Education, University of Languages and International Studies, VNU, Ha Noi, and Mr. Alan Morgan as the main speaker.

For 20 years since their establishment, IU has not only taken care of students’ education quality but also assisted their lecturers and staff members in enhancing their skills in the context of many innovations and digital transformation happening in Vietnam and around the world as well. Therefore, the University has been regularly organizing seminars and workshops with experts from many fields in order to elevate the innovative spirits in their lecturers, staff members, and students.
