INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY HOSTED THE “MINI INFORMATION DAY 2023”

International University (IU) – Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City organized the “Mini Information Day 2023” that welcomed more than 500 students, parents, and teachers from nearly 30 high schools in HCM City and other neighboring provinces.

The event was filled with many pieces of information that allow parents and students to grasp the details about the University’s articulation programs under diverse models like 1.5+1.5, 2+2, 3+1, 4+0, etc. These programs will save learners much time and expenses.

The event began with a cheer leading performance from IU Arteam and soothing singing from Duong G. After that, Prof. Le Van Canh – Vice-President of IU – delivered his inspirational opening speech to more than 500 students at the Hall: “…At the moment, what you should prioritize is having the courage to set goals for yourself and fulfilling them with focus, perseverance, and you shall not give up or be distracted by any difficulty at all.”

The opening session continued with the introduction from 10 partner universities coming from many continents. The partners of IU are prestigious and leading universities in the world including University of Houston, Andrews University, Lakehead University (North America), University of New South Wales, Sydney University, Macquarie University, Deakin University, Monash University (Australia); University of West of England, University of Nottingham (the UK). The representatives from the universities shared brief yet useful information regarding the facilities, transfer conditions, and scholarship policy for students of the articulation programs and credit-transfer programs.

Representatives from the University of Nottingham talked to the students and parents in the event. The University of Nottingham and IU are cooperating in articulation programs such as Business Administration (2+2), Information Technology (2+2), Biotechnology (2+2), Food Technology (2+2), Electrical Engineering (2+2).

Representatives from the University of Houston talked to the students and parents in the event. The University of Houston and IU are cooperating in the Business Administration (2+2) articulation program.

Representatives from Andrews University talked to the students and parents in the event. Andrews University and IU are cooperating in the Business Administration (4+0) articulation program.

Representatives from the University of Sydney talked to the students and parents in the event. The University of Sydney and IU are cooperating in articulation programs such as Business Administration (2+2), Finance (2+2), and Accounting (2+2).

Representatives from the University of New South Wales talked to the students and parents in the event. The University of New South Wales and IU are cooperating in the Business Administration (2+2) articulation program.

Representatives from Monash University talked to the students and parents in the event. Monash University and IU are co-operating in the Business Adminstration and Electrical Engineering credit-transfer programs.

The opening session ended with 2 hits by Hoang Duyen.

In the general consultation, students spoke directly to the Deans and Chairs of IU’s Schools and Departments. They also got the chance to share their thoughts to the representatives of our foreign partners from Americas, Europe, and Oceania: University of Houston, Andrews University, Lakehead University (North America), University of New South Wales, Sydney University, Macquarie University, Deakin University, Monash University (Australia); University of West of England, University of Nottingham (the UK).

“Mini Information Day 2023” also made time for specialized consultation session regarding 23 majors and admission methods of IU in 2023.

Students and parents listened to the consultations from the representatives of the University of West of England (UWE). The UWE and IU are cooperating in articulation programs such as Business Administration (2+2, 4+0), Information Technology (4+0), Computer Science (2+2), Biotechnology (2+2, 4+0), Electrical Engineering (2+2), and English Linguistics (2+2; 3+1; 4+0).

Students and parents listened to the consultations from representatives of Lakehead University. Lakehead University and IU are cooperating in the Business Administration (2+2) articulation program.

Moreover, students received consultations from the Deans and Chairs of IU’s Schools and Departments.

Besides the diverse agenda, students were able to register for the UWE mock test to assess their English proficiency, prepare and create the best momentum for the IELTS exam; be updated on the latest information about the visa policy, job opportunities, immigrant policy, etc. in Australia; receive orientations toward their future career through the “The Future of Work” workshop, and especially, get the chance to speak to successful alumni of IU’s articulation programs. The students could freely ask about the actual issues which an international student may face when studying and living abroad.
